Sri Lankan Crab sits at the heart of Aliyaa. We source wild mud crabs from Sri Lanka’s northern coastal lagoons, including Chilaw and Puttalam, and fly them in live to Kuala Lumpur for the best texture and sweetness. We regularly receive 1kg+ crabs, subject to availability.
Since opening in 2007, Aliyaa has been a pioneer of authentic Sri Lankan dining in Kuala Lumpur, helping make whole crab a city favourite. Today we remain known for our crab, served with hospitality and care.
Choose your preparation and let our team guide you on size, heat and accompaniments. Whole crab can be cooked Jaffna, Amma, Roasted Cinnamon or Deviled, while picked crab meat is offered in styles such as Varuval and Nandu Varai. Pair it with appam or string hoppers for a classic experience.
Our spice blends are ground in-house with spices imported from Sri Lanka to keep the flavours true, and we are happy to tailor the level of heat to your preference. Crab is offered by size at market price and availability may vary. Speak with our team for the best recommendation on the day.
